Big Oak Road Closure
Use Detour October 27 - January 9, 2027
The Delaware Department of Transportation plans to close Big Oak Road between Route 13 and Big Woods Road, shown in red to the right, for construction. This closure will affect access to the DASEF campus from October 26, 2026, through approximately January 9, 2027.
Visitors to the DASEF Campus will need to detour via US Route 13, turning onto Smyrna Leipsic Road, and then heading west on Big Oak Road to the DASEF Campus at 585 Big Oak Road. 5k Run to Benefit DASEF
Each year, Delaware state agencies raise funds for various charities in September and October. This year, they are hosting a 5K Run on October 17th in memory of Bill Conway who passed recently at the age of 49, leaving behind a wife and three boys. DASEF was selected as the charity of benefit for the 5K because Bill was passionate about STEM education and his boys attended programs hosted by DASEF when they were younger.

AeroSpace Academy
In operation since 1990, the objective of the Delaware Aerospace Academy is to provide applied learning experiences through our Destination academies in related activities and fields. Throughout the week, students in grades 2 – 10 are continually challenged to think, create, solve, build, and work cooperatively. All academies are designed to integrate STEM using Earth, Science and Space Education as the unifying framework.
