The Thomas Kinkade Signature Galleries of Delaware and Maryland to host the Painter of Light – Thomas Kinkade personal appearance in Wilmington, DE.

WILMINGTON, Delaware - December 1, 2008

The Thomas Kinkade Signature Galleries of Newark, DE and White Marsh, MD are delighted to host Thomas Kinkade, the Painter of Light in person on Saturday, December 6th at a local venue as the artist launches the 2008 Share the Light Tour. Kinkade will share with guests a special message about the making of Thomas Kinkade’s Christmas Cottage, the first-ever movie about the World’s Most Collected Living Artist.

Kinkade will be unveiling two of his newest holiday Limited Edition releases – Christmas in New York featuring the romantic Rockefeller Center bedecked for the holidays, and Christmas at Graceland. Additional, Kinkade will be sharing with guests the much-anticipated premiere image in the Timeless Disney Moments Collection: Snow White Discovers the Cottage.

Kinkade will also be making a presentation of the canvas, Courage, to Dr. Stephanie Wright and the Delaware Aerospace Education Foundation. The image, which will be featured in the Innovation Technology Exploration Center (ITEC), represents the courage to persevere and overcome any obstacle. The Delaware AeroSpace Education Foundation (DASEF) is a non-profit organization founded by Dr. Stephanie M. Gerjovich Wright, NASA Space Ambassador and Delaware State Aerospace Resource Educator. The foundation is dedicated to enlightening and inspiring the minds of the students and the general public of the State of Delaware and its surrounding geographic area, in preparation for meeting the challenges of the twenty-first century.

ITEC is designed to be different from other museums, and experiences here should awaken increased recognition of the impacts its inhabitants have upon the Earth, as we continue to explore, discover, learn and innovate.

Additionally, Kinkade will hand-sketch and sign the back of a Limited Edition canvas of Snow White Discovers the Cottage that will be auctioned.

A portion of the proceeds will go directly to benefit Exceptional Care for Children, Delaware’s first and only Pediatric skilled nursing, long-term care facility, providing 24 hours skilled nursing care to technology-dependant, chronically and/or terminally ill children in Delaware.
